英美法系VS大陆法系

根据世界各国法律基本特征, 世界上现存有三大法系: 大陆法系、英美法系与伊斯兰法系, 其中大陆法系和英美法系是世界上应用范围最广。英美法系, 又称普通法法系, 是以英国的普通法为基础, 现在在英国、美国、以及曾是英国殖民地、附属国的国家和地区，如印度、巴基斯坦、新加坡、加拿大、澳大利亚、新西兰、马来西亚、中国香港地区都有应用。大陆法系, 又称为民法法系, 起源可以追溯到古罗马，后扩大到整个欧洲大陆, 法国、德国、意大利、日本、中国(除中国香港)等均采用大陆法系。

英国大学的法律专业细分及职业走向

英国法律相关专业的硕士分LLM(法学硕士)与MSc/MA(理学硕士/文学硕士)两种, 申请LLM学位的专业大多需要申请人有相关的法律背景或者具备法律相关工作经验的申请者。非法律背景的申请人建议申请MSc/MA学位的法律相关专业, 这类专业一般都是法律与商科、社会学相结合的学科, 只要学生表达出对法律专业的浓厚兴趣以及学习动机，通常不要求学生有相关的专业背景。

虽然法系不同, 但鉴于英国法律专业教育的完善与颇高的含金量，仍然有众多的学生选择申请英国的法律专业, 特别是民法商法方向, 如国际商法、国际贸易法、知识产权法、普通法、国际法、海事法等。该方向的毕业生未来可以广泛就职于各大金融机构, 如银行、证券公司、保险公司以及各大跨国公司担任法律咨询顾问的工作, 也可以就职于律师事务所或者考取相关公务员职位。
